Thats alot of time and money. Most of them were worth it. And these were the films i paid good money to see at the cinema, most of them first day/week of release. None of this dvd nonsense or downloads. I was more often than not, leaving with a smile on my face, happy of the time i spent in a nice, cool, and sometimes quiet environment to lose myself in.
So far this year, ive only seen 8 films, an indication of how the films this year have been bad in comparison to last year. Good ones are few and far between. Now we are going to have an epidemic of comic book movies, and from recent showings another flood of sequels and unneeded 4th films (Indy you know who you are). Is there no-one out there with any original ideas? I havent been blown away by what ive seen. Ok there have been a couple of exceptions (Dark Knight, Iron man, and Wall-e). Maybe the studios are thinking less films, but lets make them bigger and better. It really hasnt been the case this year.
Im just hoping that next year there will be a flurry of mind-blowing blockbusters, tender dramas, side-splitting comedies and blood-curdling horror’s. Off the top of my head i can only think of Star Trek (which im more intrigued than excited about) and Wolverine movie’s on my hitlist.
